Critical Thinking, Problem Solving and Decision Making

Demonstrate the capacity to think, react, and work in an imaginative way characterized by a high degree of innovation, divergent thinking, calculated risk taking, and entrepreneurship.

One thing that I really enjoyed learning in the program was critical thinking and decision making. It was definitely not the easiest thing to complete this program for me. I had to struggle through a lot of projects and exams, and some concepts just took me longer to understand. Whenever I was working with a team, I had to think quickly and, on my toes, to make sure my section of the project was done correctly and promptly. For example, I was assigned the market analysis portion of our final capstone project. Some of the data was very difficult to find, especially specific to that area. Without access to paid market and data tools it was difficult to find some of the contents of my analysis. I had to scavenge and use my own experiences in the Houston area to confirm what some data was telling me. In the end I was happy with my market analysis and my team was successful on our project and by achieving our desired grade in the course. Now in my professional life I am applying that same mindset, by appreciating data but not using that as my sole motivator in making a decision on a potential project.
