Entrepreneurship, Civic and Global Service, and Global Citizenship

Demonstrate civic responsibility, global awareness, and a commitment to service.

Being an entrepreneur is something I want to achieve some day, my father had to practically start over in his late 30’s but has since become a very successful and self-made entrepreneur with his own business for nearly 20 years. My dad, this program and all of my life experiences have taught me that always having a service mindset will go a long way with your peers, your superiors and your friends and family. In this industry I want to do my absolute best to make my mark in any way I can, when I was a construction manager intern, I enjoyed seeing everyone elated faces as they walked into their finished home for the first time. I got to talk to the tradesmen in Spanish and could see that they were excited that II could relate to them about their language. I hope to be able to visit faraway places and understand why they do things the way they do why things look the way they look and incorporate them into both my professional and personal life. Being able to be that person to make someone’s day goes a long way and can create relationships that will propel you forward in your career and in your life. Thats the kind of person I want to be and the kind of legacy I want to leave behind for my family and my industry. I want to be able to make places that people want to live, a place that they enjoy calling home. I look forward to serving in everyone I meet in any way I can. I truly believe that this program has helped me become the best person that I could be coming into the industry. It has helped me find a career I enjoy and want to be a part of and has really helped me grow all around as a person. I know I have a lot of things to still keep working on and learning, but I am not worried in the slightest. I know that my foundation is solid and can always look back at my roots with a smile on my face. I can’t wait to give back to the program to my peers and professors, and to everyone who has helped me get to where I am now.
